EDUCATION

1999:
Full-honours degree in Marketing and Advertising, ("Diploma Universitario in Marketing e Comunicazione d'Azienda") achieved at the Economics Faculty of the University of Bari.
Thesis in "Economy and Techniques of Advertising", entitled "The case SMART: innovating communication for an innovating car" (about the launch campaign of the -then- new city car by Mercedes-Benz).

1995 and '96:
Summer full-immersion classes of German language, at the University of Bremen and University of Hamburg (Germany).

1992:
High school diploma, specialized in classical studies, achieved from "Liceo Ginnasio SOCRATE", in Bari. Mark: 52/60.


TRAINING

From October 2000 to May 2001:
Attended the course of creativity and advertising techniques "JWT Creative Academy", c/o the advertising agency J. Walter Thompson in Milan, as a copywriter. The course allowed 16 young creatives (8 Art and 8 Copy), selected through 3 sessions of creativity tests among 600 candidates (see certificate).

1994 and '95:
Attended a 1015-hours-course directed by I.F.O.A. (Institute for Training of Business Operators) and promoted by the European Union and "Unioncamere Nazionale". The course, designed to go side by side with the University classes, integrated them with the study of real and relevant case histories, workshops and seminars held by successful and skilled Marketing and Advertising professionals.


WORK EXPERIENCE

I am working as a freelance translator-copywriter (transcreator) since 2003.
My current activity is focused on the English-to-Italian adaptation and transcreation of ad campaigns, below-the-line materials, websites, multimedia products.
My direct Clients are communication and transcreation agencies, such as:
World Writers (UK)
Lionbridge (formerly Bowne Global Solutions)
Rubric (UK),
Keywords International (Ireland)
Zeitgeist (UK),
As of today, through those agencies I've had the opportunity to work on many important brands.

Background experiences:
Between 1995 and 2003 I have been building my background by mean of a number of work experiences, such as internships as a copywriter (agency BATES, Rome - 2002; Studio De Liso, Bari - 1999/2000), collaborations with an italian monthly magazine, freelance jobs as a copywriter and editor, translations and adaptations of various materials.
In my early twenties I have worked at a local radio station (speaker and DJ on my own weekly radio show) and in a TV broadcasting company (internship with tasks such as assistant to direction, cutting and graphic computer, studio and writing assistant for a show for teenagers and 20-somethings).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Languages:
Italian: native speaker. Fluent in English and German. Good knowledge of French.

Use of computer:
I currently work on state-of-the-art, fully equipped laptop computer and with flatrate high-speed internet connection. This guarantees my 24/7 professional availability.
I have an advanced knowledge of the main application softwares and I am very skilled at the use of the Internet, including knowledge of Html and Javascript.

Other experiences:
- In 2002, I took part in the creative competition "McDonald's: what a big fuss over a Big Mac", organized over the Internet by Enzo Baldoni, acknowledged as one of Italy's greatest copywriters.
My creative proposal was ranked among the 16 winners (over 1476 participants).

- Since 2002 I am collaborating with the official website of the german band Einstürzende Neubauten as italian translator for texts, lyrics and press releases. I am also giving online support for italian users of the website and italian fans of the band whenever needed.


Hobbies:
Internet; practicing and performing of middle-eastern dances and egyptian percussions; advertising; movies and TV series; figurative arts and crafts, both enjoying and practicing; rock music, singing; study of foreign languages; literature, books about marketing and communication; egyptology; astronomy.

I am very independent and have got a strongly determined, positive approach to life, which, together with my sociable and cheerful personality, help me to establish excellent and long-lasting relationships both on the personal and business side.

My transcreation work over the recent few years ranges from classic advertising to entire magazines devoted to beauty and fashion, from technical brochures of cameras and camcorders to sales aid materials with medical-scientific contents, from localising websites to directing the VO recordings post-transcreation.
